The Ugly Truth

I am constantly struggling with myself. {If only I could be a few sizes smaller, or have tan skin. If only my clothes were cuter. If only I could have better style or drive a nicer car.} But the thing is, I already have so much to be grateful for (a great husband and kids, health, a house, a car to drive, clothes to wear, food to eat). Who says I have to look a certain way or drive a certain car? I think too many people compare themselves to others and have an unrealistic view of life and how they fit into it. I am as guilty as they come. I fall into that trap and want it to stop. I have been so grouchy lately. Maybe it's because I'm on my second week of the South Beach Diet (no sugar or carbs or fruit--yeah, life is tough) or maybe it's because I just had a baby and my hormones are still out of whack. Whatever my excuse is, I want to pledge to myself and the world that I will just stop this nonsense and love me for me. So I will quit comparing and just love me! :) I love me because I am a good person, I care about others and I absolutely LOVE chocolate chip cookies!!! There I said it. It's out there. Now, you try.

Memorial Day

I spent Memorial Day in Woodland Hills. My parents had a lunch for everyone (in their nice new gazebo) and then we headed to the Payson cemetary where a lot of the ancestors on my mom's side are buried. We took flowers and took them around to all the headstones. Max wanted to pose in front of every headstone that we walked by. Funny kid. It was a nice day to remember those who fought for our country and those that have gone on before us.

Two Months

I can't believe that Zoey is 2 months old already. She is the best! I just can't stop holding her and kissing her. She smiles a lot and doesn't cry unless she is hungry or tired. When I change her diaper, she kicks her legs in the cutest way. She is a pretty good sleeper, but wakes up once or twice during the night. She hates being in the car, but as soon as I crank the tunes, she stops. She doesn't really like a binkie yet, but her fingers find their way to her mouth. She could eat all day if I let her. I love watching her grow (and sleep, which she does a lot!). Isn't she cute?

Zoey's Blessing

We had Zoey's blessing on Sunday. It was just beautiful!! Pat did a great job blessing her. We had a luncheon after and lots of our family came. Zoey is such a sweet heart. My mom made her dress and it was exactly what I wanted for Zoey. Nothing too frilly or fancy, just simple and cute. (Thanks Mom!) It was a wonderful day.

Silverpups Preschool Graduation

This is Lukas' second preschool graduation (he misses the deadline for kindergarten by 6 days and so he had to do 2 years of preschool). I can't tell you how excited he is to finally start kindergarten. He's been telling everyone that he's in kindergarten now. For graduation, they have a little program. It was so cute. They sang all the songs they learned and they each had a little speaking part. Lukas did great. He memorized it and got to point to all the letters on the chart while they sang a song. Then they changed into their cap and gowns and posed for pictures. After it was over, I was taking pictures of Lukas with his teachers and Max had to be in every one. He followed Lukas around everywhere and posed for each picture like it was his special day. (It will be soon Maxers!) Lukas would always talk about his friends, Ellie and Parker. It was fun to meet them and see Lukas interact with them. Lukas is getting so big and so grown up. I can't wait to help him start reading and getting ready for kindergarten!!

Photo Shoot

Zoey finally got her photo shoot! She is growing so fast even though she is still so little. It is so fun to sit and hold her and get nothing else done. I love being her mom!! She has the cutest cry and it's fun to watch her smile while she sleeps. I can't believe she is already 6 weeks (on Tuesday).

Finally, something worth reading (after the beloved "Twilight", of course). Now I'm on to the second book and I already don't want it to be over. Is it true they are making it into a movie? Woot woot!!!!!!!!!!!!!
