Brotherhood

Are these guys going to best friends or what? They play together on an indoor soccer league. It is so fun to watch them. They are polar opposites, but it's that brotherhood that bonds them and they would defend each other to the death. It's a love/hate relationship, but I'm so happy that they have each other!!! (I am posting more about soccer in their individual blogs, so visit there for details).

Oh Baby!

My boys are so cute with my big belly. Lukas constantly hugs it and give it kisses. I'm always complaining how I have to bend over to get things. He'll always say to me, "Mom, don't worry, you don't have to bend over. Just tell me what you need and I'll pick it up for you." Or I'll have a pain somewhere and say "Oow" and Max will say, "Was that the baby hurting you?" One day I was doing something and I said, "Man, I'm getting fat!" And Lukas quickly responded, "No mom, you don't look fat. You just have a baby belly." I'm doing my best to prepare them for a new addition, but really what can I do? It helps that I watch Hadlie every once in a while so they can see that I have to focus my attention on someone other than them. I've been working hard to get myself ready and am thinking, I'M NOT! I have so much to do, I am not ready for this baby to come out. And what do I do when she does? I can juggle 2 kids, but 3?!! My sweet mom came over one day to help with the nursery decor (she is making the cutest quilt for the crib). I have the curtains and the rocker that I recovered and I recently finished my car seat cover. Now all I need is to have that basement finished so I can move all my craft stuff downstairs and get that crib up! :) Which leads to my next post...

Almost Finished

It's been a goal of ours to have our basement finished within a year of moving into our house. We just hit our 3 year mark, so we missed that goal by a long shot. However, slowly and surely over the years we've done little things. Now I think I lit a fire under Pat and there is nothing like a baby on the way to motivate us! We are 90% done--just waiting on doors and carpet (and the bathroom and little mini bar we want...oh, and don't forget the big screen projector)! I'm so excited. Excited to have more space and more places for the kids to play where I won't hear them!!! I hope they like playing in an empty room with just carpet, b/c that is all that will be there for now. How does it add up so fast? Well, I'm just so happy to be where we are. Hoorah for basements and NO MORE DUST! Now I just have to worry about the spiders. Eeeeew.

Girlfriends

Everyone needs someone they can laugh with and talk to and share secrets with and be silly with. Someone who understands you and can be there for you when need them. Someone you can call and complain to or whine to or cry with. Or borrow a box of macaroni and cheese from when your kids want nothing else. Someone that you can call 100 times a day and can have your kids run to their house when you need a nap. Someone who loves the shows you love and so you have to get together to watch them. Someone you love and trust to take care of your kids in a crisis. I am so lucky to live in a neighborhood where that is a commonplace everyday! I can walk up or down any street and find a friend there. I love it. I need it and I can't live without it. Thank goodness for girlfriends!!!!! (NOTE: This picture does not include every girlfriend...sorry! But you are recognized just the same.)

Happy Heart Day!

Valentine's Day...it can be so over-rated and depressing when you are single. Believe me, I've had plenty of black V-days in my time. But, now that I have my own family and lover boy it's fun to go all out. Nothing makes me happier than pink and red M&M's and everything heart shaped. I am very blessed to have 3 great guys in my life and they sure made it special for me. Pat and I went out Friday to the Cheesecake Factory (YUM) and to see the movie "Valentine's Day" (totally funny- go see it!). And Sunday we had a special family dinner (which included heart shaped meatloaf w/ mashed potatoes, green beans and rolls, chocolate dipped strawberries, brownies and ice cream and a raspberry drink). Cupid brought the boys some shirts and lunch boxes with toys inside. And my cupid bought me a LABEL MAKER! I can't tell you how excited I am to label things. Yahooo!! Thank you honey. The boys got me the cutest card and they love opening it over and over. We even got Wolfie some treats and chew toys. Lukas kept saying, "When are our guests coming? I can't wait 'til our guests arrive." I guess I only do nice dinners if we have company or it's a holiday. Hmmm. And Max loved the messages on the sweethearts. In fact, he ate an entire box (the big kind) all by himself. He'd say, "If you say I love you then you can have a heart." What cute boys I have. :)

Hey Big Momma

I'm now 32 weeks. Nothing like a self bathroom shot. Nice belly. :)
