9 years ago I was in Zimbabwe, Africa with an internship for BYU. While we were there, I had the privilege of experiencing a total solar eclipse. We got to witness something that only happens (in that country) every 400 years. It was incredible. And in 2 days I'll get to experience another eclipse, only instead of being with my Zimbabwe friends, I'll be with vampires and werewolves. It's hard to say which I'll enjoy more. So, here's to ECLIPSE!!! I can't wait...

Herriman Days
For the first time since we've lived in Herriman, we made it to the Herriman Days Parade (thanks to Whitney). It was so fun and so easy. We found a great parking space, a great spot to watch the parade from...and all just 3 minutes from home. The boys had fun catching the taffy and we had fun eating it! :) Notice the tractor picture-- there are missionaries on top! Only in Utah. They had more fun things to do later that night. Pat took the kids to the park for games, rides, treats and food. We {heart} Herriman!!!!

There is HOPE
My dad was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer over a year ago. He is fighting it and getting treatments through a clinical study with the Huntsman Cancer Institute. We feel so blessed to have him in our lives and cherish our moments and memories with him. My awesome sister (who runs like a mad woman) is running a race for The Huntsman Cancer Institute to raise money for cancer research. Here's what she has to say:

Cutie Pie
How cute is this girl? I just love her. She is growing too fast. She smiles so cute now and giggles. The boys adore and smother her. She is putty in Pat's hands. I love being her mommy!!

Father's Day Weekend
We went up to Snowbird for the weekend to celebrate Father's Day. It was so fun to be in the mountains. We went swimming and hiking and on the tram to the tippy top of the mountain where there was still snow. (We didn't realize we were getting off on top and we all had flip flops on. Duh!) It was so much fun. Thanks Pat for being an amazing dad and for the fun celebration of YOU! The kids adore you and love spending time with you. {#1 Dad!}

The Ugly Truth
I am constantly struggling with myself. {If only I could be a few sizes smaller, or have tan skin. If only my clothes were cuter. If only I could have better style or drive a nicer car.} But the thing is, I already have so much to be grateful for (a great husband and kids, health, a house, a car to drive, clothes to wear, food to eat). Who says I have to look a certain way or drive a certain car? I think too many people compare themselves to others and have an unrealistic view of life and how they fit into it. I am as guilty as they come. I fall into that trap and want it to stop. I have been so grouchy lately. Maybe it's because I'm on my second week of the South Beach Diet (no sugar or carbs or fruit--yeah, life is tough) or maybe it's because I just had a baby and my hormones are still out of whack. Whatever my excuse is, I want to pledge to myself and the world that I will just stop this nonsense and love me for me. So I will quit comparing and just love me! :) I love me because I am a good person, I care about others and I absolutely LOVE chocolate chip cookies!!! There I said it. It's out there. Now, you try.

Two Months
I can't believe that Zoey is 2 months old already. She is the best! I just can't stop holding her and kissing her. She smiles a lot and doesn't cry unless she is hungry or tired. When I change her diaper, she kicks her legs in the cutest way. She is a pretty good sleeper, but wakes up once or twice during the night. She hates being in the car, but as soon as I crank the tunes, she stops. She doesn't really like a binkie yet, but her fingers find their way to her mouth. She could eat all day if I let her. I love watching her grow (and sleep, which she does a lot!). Isn't she cute?
