Where to go? Destination Relaxation

We get to take a mini vacation with my parents this summer and we're trying to decide where to go. It has to be within driving distance (6 hours or less, preferably less), relaxing, beautiful and FUN!! We have been considering Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Lodging is a bit pricey, though. My brother and his family already went to Bear Lake and my sister and her family are currently at Zion right now. (Each one of us siblings gets a separate vaca with the padres). We'll go AFTER Pat graduates and he needs a nice relaxing break. Any suggestions??

Lake Tahoe? I'm not sure how far of a drive it is, but I have heard its beautiful!! You have mountains to go biking, hiking, etc, but also the lake to go play in the sun.

Chad and I went on our honeymoon to Sun Valley Idaho, and it was amazing! I think it is about 5 hours away. We stayed in a resort owned by Little America (the big one downtown), and it was absolutely amazing! You could rent mountain bikes there, hike, and eat some really amazing food. I am itching to go back!

I have always loved going to Bear Lake. They have nice Sandy beaches on the Utah side and your kids would love it!!

If you want to go Jackson but cheaper, look down by Star Valley Ranch, WY. It's about 45 minutes away and is GORGEOUS!!! We just got back from there.
Sun Valley is also great. Mark and I go every year without the kids and stay in a little Bed and Breakfast in Hailey that is about 1/2 the price of Sun Valley lodging. It's called Ellworth Inn and Estate. The breakfast is SOOO yummy!
Have fun!

I would maybe suggest going to Island Park/Macks Inn area. Macks Inn has a great spot to rent and float canoes down the river that your kids would love (water isn't very deep and is crystal clear, huge fish to see). West Yellostone and Yellowstone Park entrance is maybe 20 minutes away to go see old faithful, etc. I'm sure your kids would love seeing elk and buffalo up close (well from inside a car anyway). But if you do end up going Jackson Hole, I would recommend getting tickets to the Bar J Chuckwagon - dinner and they put on a fantastic family friendly show/music.
