R.I.P. {July 2008-April 2010}

The kids really did not pay much attention to little Simon, our beta fish. Every morning when I would come downstairs he was the first thing I'd look at. Mostly to make sure he was still alive. {Ever since Bluey, I'm terrified to find a dead, shriveled fish on the ground.} Simon had a few moments of belly flopping, only to come out of it and some how be stronger. He was easy to take care of and I only had to feed him twice a week. After I came home from the hospital with Zoey, I noticed he wasn't quite as chipper as he used to be. He'd wedge himself in the little plant so his body wouldn't float to the top. Sadly I discovered him a day or two after he passed. I didn't notice earlier b/c he wasn't floating on top, he was stuck in the plant. I told the kids about it and they were sad. I couldn't deal with digging a dead fish out of his bowl and flushing him, so I turned it over to Pat. He put Simon in a little box and buried him in the backyard with the boys. They still go out and visit him and check on him every now and then. We'll miss you Simon!!

Hoop It Up!

We went in with 2 of our neighbors and got a basketball hoop for our little circle. It's already attracted kids (and adults) from all over. Pat's dream is coming true (he always wanted a basketball court in our backyard. And although this is far from our backyard, it's a start. He loves it!! As do the boys!). And it only took him 6 hours to put together...He says it was worth it.

Daddy's Little Girl

Look how happy she is!! Already a "Daddy's Girl".

Zoey's Quilt

My mom is the best sewer (despite what she says). She made a quilt for Zoey's crib to match her room. It turned out so cute! Thank you Nana!!

Once Upon A Time...

Once upon a time there was a little baby that was going to be born. The mommy & daddy were so excited (and a little nervous). Mommy went to the hospital and all the nice doctors helped her get the baby out. The baby was so cute and small. Everyone loved her. They named her Zoey. Zoey had 2 older brothers and they loved her to pieces. They had gifts for her and made special cards for her. Zoey had grandparents that came to visit and love her, too. She got to come home after a few days. Everyone in the family helped out (Pat--you're amazing!!) and Zoey felt right at home. The brothers and mommy and daddy took great care of Zoey and they are living happily ever after .

Our Little Girl (picture overload)

Here are some pictures! Can you tell we just love her? The boys are sure cute with Zoey. They always ask to hold her and sit with her so good. They have said some funny things during all this, too:

  • Max- "Mom, what is that?" (as he points to her shriveled little cord). Me- "That's her umbilical cord." Then a little later, he pulled up her shirt to check and said, "Yep, her extension cord is still there."
  • Lukas was holding her and said, "I love this. I could sit here and hold her all day."
  • Lukas was playing outside with some friends and he brought them all in the house. He proudly introduced Zoey to everyone and said, "This is my baby sister Zoey. Isn't she cute?"
  • As soon as baby makes any noise, Max is immediately at her side saying, "Moooooom, she's crying, she needs her binkie."
  • I was talking to Max and asked him if he was a big brother. His response..."I'm a big brother and I'm cute, too."

Welcome to the world Zoey!

The newest addition to our family is finally here! Zoey was born April 6th, 2010 @ 8:05 a.m. (by planned c-section). Everything went smoothly and she came out just perfectly!! She weighs 7 pounds 8 ounces and was 18.5 inches long (which Pat had the nurse re-measure later and she was closer to 19.5). We are delighted to have her and the boys love her to death! They are wonderful with her and have a tender side when it comes to baby Zoey. This is from Pat's iPhone, so more pictures to come once I make it to the computer, but for now, here she is!!!

One Last Look

{Here it is. One last side profile picture. I promise. I know it's super cheesy to take prego pictures, but I just want to remember this big belly. (I'll probably still have a big belly for a long time, but I promise I won't be displaying that.) I am pretty sure I'm done having kids, so this will be the last time I'm pregnant. I want to remember it. I'm going in for a c-section in the morning (Riverton Hospital-please come visit!! I'll be there for 4 days and bored, I'm sure). I'm so excited to finally hold this little baby. Our lives are about to change forever. }

Happy Easter!!

This Easter was a little different than what I had expected. I always picture green grass and flowers everywhere so the kids can hunt their eggs in their cute outfits. Instead, it was cold and snowy outside and Pat had to work all weekend. Plus, no church b/c of General Conference, so no dressing up. I had planned on going to my parents house for the weekend, but decided to stay close to the home front in case anything happened since I'm so far along. That didn't stop the party because my parents came to me. We had such yummy Sunday dinner (that I ate way too much of) and got to watch conference (YAY!). The kids and I colored eggs and had an egg hunt Saturday, despite the weather. I never got my family Easter picture, but the boys are sure cute. I love how they love each other so much. They seriously are best friends. It makes me so happy. (And yes, every holiday is a reason to dress up like Spiderman). I LOVE Easter. It's such a great holiday. Chocolate, Easter baskets, the Savior. Not in that order obviously. So it was different, but still good. Thanks Easter Bunny.
